Alex Operating Alexa Mini LF

Alexander, a Canadian-American Director of Photography, Camera Operator, and Camera Assistant, is an active member of IATSE Local 600 and an Associate Member of the Society of Camera Operators.

Alexander’s journey began at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida, where he honed his skills as a camera operator for the UCF Athletics Association and Fox Sports. Before finishing his studies at UCF, he was fortunate to receive a scholarship to attend Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida and transferred into their film program.

At Full Sail University, Alexander immersed himself in freelancing, working for various production companies (including his instructors’) in diverse roles, including Director of Photography, camera operator, camera assistant, gaffer, stills photographer, and dolly grip. He graduated in 2021 with a bachelor’s of science degree in Film.

In addition to his academic achievements, Alexander’s passion for photography and videography led him to pursue various rental tech positions. He worked as a Rental Prep Technician for Cinebob Central Florida Camera Rentals and First Unit Grip and Electric Production Rentals, gaining valuable experience while using the latest film industry equipment.

After relocating to Atlanta in early 2022, Alexander joined the local film industry in the camera department. Additionally, he expanded his skills by working for Airstar America as a Balloon Lighting Technician and leveraged his expertise in the live entertainment industry as a freelance audio/visual lead (AV1), video engineer (V1), and broadcast camera operator/technician.
